Jaz Lamb

BASI National Education Team Coach

Where do you live?
In a small village called Gys, just outside Morzine in the northern French Alps. It an ideal location, halfway between the ski area and lake Geneva for summer activities!
Where do you work?
I'm the Director of the British Alpine Ski School (BASS) in Morzine and Les Gets so spend most of my winter in Morzine and the Portes du Soleil.
Name your favourite ski resort?
I’d have to go with Morzine and the Portes du Soleil as that is where I chose to base myself but I still have incredibly fond memories of the good days skiing in Glenshee and Glencoe! Great skiing when they’re in good condition!
What's you best overall skiing memory?
I have so many great memories from an amazing career skiing. I have fond memories of the camaraderie and fun teaching in my early career in Glenshee. We had a mini reunion this season and it was fantastic to catch up with old buddies. I vividly remember passing the course that gave me my first Ski Instructor Licence - when I actually became a ski instructor for real! Being selected into the BASI Training body was the realisation of a long held ambition, but probably the best memories I have are of representing BASI and GB at the 2011 Interski Congress in St Anton and again in Ushuaia in 2015.
Any other skills we should know about?
Sailing - I have enjoyed competing to a high level on a variety of sailing boats from Dinghys to 40ft race yachts, I was part of a crew that won National and European championships.
